Training 18 December

Auteur: Han Krijgsman

Saturday, December 18, we had the first training with the complete team. The last months we only trained with the runners and cyclists. At 9:00 we started a test run of 70 minutes. The weather was perfect, no wind no rain, excellent for a good run. Returning at the Hermanus Boerhaavestraat our teammembers for the catering had prepared a good meal for all of us.

Team 2012 complete

We succeeded, we have sufficient internal  applications for the Roparun to start with a complete team from the DylanGroup (only physiotherapists are external). At this moment we are only searching for  2 physiotherapists to complete the team. All members can be seen on the site from the DylanGroupRunners.

The coming months the team will focus on the preparation. This means for the runners and cyclists primarily training and for all other members focusing on the food and material that is needed for the run.

The coming months the team will be training together 6 times to practice the relay-race and how to work with description of the route and of course for the team spirit.

As from Saturday, October 15, the runners will train every 3 weeks, voluntarily accompanied by the cyclist or other fans. We start  every time at Hermanus Boerhaavestraat at 8:30.

Roparun 2012

Auteur: Han Krijgsman

The decision is taken; the DylanGroup is going to participate again! September 2 we registered for the Roparun 2012. With 2 new team captains, Jan van Eck and Han Krijgsman, we are going for equaling the results of last year. Through the efforts from all colleagues from the DylanGroup and with the help of our sponsors we certainly shall succeed to realize a huge amount for the Roparun Foundation again. And also for the “Run”, in the weekend of 26-28 May 2012, we received enough applications from our colleagues to complete the team.

Perseverance, determination and decisiveness

Participating in the Roparun requires perseverance, determination and decisiveness. Three words that fit us like a glove. To the DylanGroupRunners, participating in 2010 felt very natural. The team was ready and everything went well especially because the team was registered at a lower average speed, which allowed participants to enjoy all that they had missed out on the year before...

A wintery first training run

Like last year, there was snow during the first training run. Although the team captains, Bob Groenewoud and Ben Berenman, had their doubts whether to cancel or to go ahead, it was decided to meet after all. Cancelling was not really an option, because the team was finally complete. There were some things, which needed to be arranged, like selecting and trying on outfits and making new pictures for the website.

DylanGroupRunners will participate in the Roparun for the third time

This year, the DylanGroupRunners will participate in the Roparun for the third time. It is the longest non-stop relay race in the world over a distance of 530 km, a running event, not comparable to any other. Regarded by many as an adventure for life. This is also evident from the motto, which the Roparunners have sported for many years: "Add life to the days, where no more days can be added to life".
